REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES TO THE SCC

We are looking for someone to serve as regional rep for the Shreveport, Central Louisiana, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and North Shore areas to the SCC. Visit the Leadership page to see what parishes these regions encompass. We know there are plenty of Libertarians there, but none sent delegates to the convention, and there is no word that there was any caucus electing officers. If you are interested in serving in this position, please contact the State Chair ASAP at chair@la.lp.org.Leadership.htmlmailto:chair@louisianalibertarian.net?subject=Regional%20Rep%20Positionshapeimage_2_link_0shapeimage_2_link_1
PARISH EXECUTIVE COUNCILS

The recent LPL convention adopted a new level of activism and organization for the party in the form of Parish Executive Councils. These councils are responsible for growing membership in their parishes, conducting activities for members, and implementing the Elected Official Liaison program.

In order to establish a council for the first time, at least five registered Libertarians need to caucus to elect officers. If enough people are interested, then an election can be held based on wards/districts within the parish. Contact your Regional Rep today if you are interested!!Metro_Regions.htmlshapeimage_3_link_0
ELECTED OFFICIAL LIAISONS

A simpler term would be "mirror government." We are looking for hard working, civic minded individuals who are interested in picking ONE elected office within their parish, be it a mayor, city council district, police juror, judgeship, state rep, state senate, etc. etc. Each liaison is responsible for learning everything there is to know about that office - who the current holder is, details about their election, duties of the office, compensation, term of office, policies the current occupant has done which are friendly and unfriendly to our ideals, etc. The goal is to have at least one 'goto' person for anyone interested in running for a particular office, as well as serving as a potential lobbyist to this office to try to educate and inform the official on the Libertarian position in how he or she governs. This liaison will also keep the party informed of activities and behavior of this official for the purpose of press releases and public pressure efforts and/or praise for supporting our policies. Of course, if this liaison is so inclined they could also serve as a 'candidate in grooming' though that is by no means a requirement.

If this sounds like you - contact your Parish Executive Committee, or your Regional Rep TODAY!!Parishes.htmlMetro_Regions.htmlshapeimage_4_link_0shapeimage_4_link_1
