Register to Vote

The Louisiana Secretary of State has set up a special website for voter information and registration- GeauxVote.com.

To qualify to register to vote you must:

Online*
You can apply online at the Secretary of State's website: GeauxVote.com. Click the "Register to Vote" icon and then proceed through the "Register to Vote Online Link."
*You MUST have a Louisiana issued Driver's License or Louisiana issued Special ID Card to use this online system regardless of your current voter registration status.
In Person
You can apply in person to register to vote at any Registrar of Voters (PDF download) or any of the following sites:
  • Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicle offices
  • Louisiana Department of Social Services offices and WIC offices, Food Stamp offices, and Medicaid offices
  • Offices serving persons with disabilities, such as the Deaf Action Centers and Independent Living offices
  • Armed Forces Recruitment offices
By Mail
You can apply by postal mail by downloading the Louisiana Voter Registration Application form, (PDF download) completing it and mailing it to your local Registrar of Voters office. (Please note that the list of Registrar Offices with addresses for each parish is included on the form)

If any Registrar of Voters refuses to allow you to register or refuses to allow you to affiliate with the Libertarian Party, please contact your State Central Committee Parish Representative ASAP. We will evaluate your qualifications and situation and assist you in successfully registering if you are in fact eligible.
