Where Do I Vote?
The Louisiana Secretary of State has set up a special website for voter information - GeauxVote.com.
You can also go directly to their Polling Place Locator form on the Geaux Vote website. The form allows you to search for your polling place by either one of two methods:
By Name
requires first name, last name, and either zip code or month and year of birth
This option will give you your Parish, Ward, & Precinct numbers, the name and address of your polling station, your party affiliation, as well as the codes for the various districts you live in. (useful for finding out who represents you in each district)
There are also links for contact information for your Parish Registrar of Voters, a sample ballot (if one is ready for the next election) as well as a map of the polling location.
When searching by name, you have the ability to set the scope of each name field to "exactly" or "begins with" if you are searching for someone else but aren't quite sure of the full spelling.
By Voter Address
requires house number, street name, and city
This option will return all of the same information as Search by Name except your name and party affiliation.
Please note that you are only eligible to vote at the polling station that is assigned to handle the address you used to register to vote. If you have moved since registering and have not updated your address information with your new parish Registrar of Voters, then you will have to vote in your old precinct's polling station.
In order to be eligible to vote in any election, you must have filed your registration with your parish Registrar of Voters, no later than 30 days prior to the election. Our elections calendars that we post here on the LPL website always include the registration deadline. For more information on voter registration, see our page Register to Vote, or visit the Geaux Vote website.
